Costa Rica Del Sur, Parte Ocho! With Lisa Mae and Savonn

January 4-11th, 2014

After a screaming excellent adventure in early 2013, Lisa Mae and the awesome Savonn Wyland of Sellwood Yoga Center team up again in a double-the-love retreat in the enchanted and mystical jungle/ocean/rainforest of our treasured and delicious home-away-from-home, the Osa Peninsula, for our 8th annual journey into the heart of the wild! Lisa Mae and Savonn combine over 4 decades of teaching into one retreat. Yoga, wildlife, surfing and maximum chilling. Do it!

We probably do not need to tell you about this one, as it has become local legend among peeps that have traveled to the Osa Peninsula and returned, forever changed. But in case you need convincing, we will offer you the opportunity for the 8th year in a row to travel to one of the most bio-diverse places on the planet, lounge in jungle and oceanic bliss with a set of permanent surfing waves that don’t quit, eat tremendously decadent meals in the hot tropical night air (no cooking, no cleaning), wake to howler monkeys and scarlet macaws, and do so much yoga, meditation and chanting that you will wonder how you ever did anything else all day.

Two luscious, deep asana classes each day, sunrise meditations to greet the day, surfing, hiking, swimming and lounging all day, and nary a thought to what you might eat or when, for all meals are provided. Excellent and rustic indoor/outdoor lodgings, swimming pools, weird jungle creatures, and unlimited and unimaginable fun. Get deep with your practice, renew your sagging spirits, and get some freakin’ sunshine for crying out loud. We totally sold out last year, so celebrate New Year’s early and register!

Cost: $1365 shared rustic tent/cabina, $1465 shared rustic house, $1595 solo rustic tent/cabina (limited availability)

Viva Mexico! With Lisa Mae and Marianne

April 5-12, 2014 Playa Troncones, Mexico

Well if you didn’t hear about it already, last year ‘s Mexico adventure was AWESOME! And so we are very happy to return to the amazing and quaint beach town of Playa Troncones, Mexico, 35km north of the Ixtapa airport on the Pacific side. A lazy, safe, homey little town full of low-lying casas and down home charm, and did we mention awesome waves for surfing? We are set up with the entire eye-fryingly pink compound again, with several private beachfront villas and swimming pools all for you...

Think sunrise meditations, two hours of deep-diving yoga classes in the mornings, a killer Mexican brunch, and then all day to do your thing. Private rides to the deserted surf break where you can learn or shred, play on a stand-up paddleboard in a beautiful protected estuary, kayak or bird watch, and stroll miles of uncrowded beaches. Sundowner yoga classes on the sweet (and newly re-built!) open-air yoga deck with palm fronds as your ceiling, dinner out 2 nights in the little village for some local flavor or cooked by the amazing Celia for 5 nights in the ocean-view poolside suite, and then perhaps a midnight cannonball into the pool? Complete with a fully-loaded optional “Learn to Surf” package for $500, an add-on possibility for you all that long for many days in a row to go in the water with an instructor. If you don’t need lessons, there is still a private ride to the break every day! No matter what you choose, we promise much feasting and merriment for all to enjoy.

We can only take 14 lucky peeps on this trip to keep it intimate, since we can’t hardly take over the entire beachfront. So start planning now! A non-refundable deposit of $200 will hold a space for you on this one…As if you needed one more reason to love yoga. Practice in paradise with us!

$1200 double occupancy, $1450 single occupancy (very limited availability)

Retreat Cancellation Policy

Dearest yogi family,
We regret that we need to have one of these kinds of policies, but alas, it has become necessary. So here goes.
If you are registered and paid for any retreat we will happily issue you a refund of your payment. Here is the scene:

  • If you cancel 1 month or more before the retreat, we will happily give you a 100% refund.
  • If it is less than 1 month from the date of the retreat, we will give you a 100% refund if we are able to fill your spot.
  • If it is less than 1 month from the date of the retreat, and we are not able to fill your spot, we will give you a refund of 75% of the cost of the retreat or deposit you have given.
  • If it is less than 2 weeks in advance of the retreat and we are not able to fill your spot, we sadly cannot give you a refund.

As you know, many of our retreats fill up and then get a waiting list, so the likelihood that we will fill the space is pretty high, with the exception of stuff we do in other countries. But that might mean that we have to wait until after the retreat happens to find out and get you a refund!
