Pure Joy in Motion!
Please join our dear friend Jasmine Tarkeshi from the Laughing Lotus in San Francisco in offering two amazing classes just for you. Master Class & Sequencing Workshop
Jasmine Tarkeshi from the Laughing Lotus in New York and San Francisco returns to share a Master Class on Friday the 19th of April, and her delightful Chakras Sequencing Workshop on Sat. and Sun, the 20th and 21st of April! Join us in this Teaching Methodology intensive for teachers and teachers-to-be to learn the dynamics of sharing a vinyasa practice through the sweet subtlety of the chakra system. Understand the dynamics of each chakra, learn mudra and mantra to awaken the sacred in each, and learn to craft artful, creative vinyasa phrases using this vibrant system. Open to teachers and teachers in training.
Outer Form: Structural Bandhas
In this experiential workshop with Monicka on Saturday the 27th, take a closer look at the anatomical structures that correlate with the yogic bandhas, or "locks" of the physical body to provide deep, structural support. By deepening your understanding of how to access this foundation of support in a physical way, we will de-mystify the role the bandhas can play in asana practice. Learn to cultivate strength, steadiness, grace, and ease for a safe and continuing physical practice.
Inner Form: Energetic Bandhas
This experiential, subtle workshop will explore the great supports of your body in an energetic sense on Sunday the 28th with Hari-bhakti. There are three main energetic valves spoken about in classical yoga—mula, uddiyana and jalandhara. By deepening your understanding of how to tap into these bandhas you will be able to create additional structural and energetic support not only in your asana practice but in your everyday life. The glory of the bandhas’ inner workings is endless, from more efficient breathing, to creating lift and lightness in your body, to clearing stagnant energy.
Kirtan!
Come and chant with us April 14th as we celebrate and sing every second Sunday from 6-8pm! We raise our voices and hearts to the divine in this age-old practice of bhakti yoga. No experience necessary, and everyone can participate. We serve the wonderful organization Care for Vrindavan in India this month, creating social networks of change in the heartland of yoga.
