Learn, explore and contemplate in good company and conversation a few of the main sacred texts of Yoga; select readings from The Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gita, The Yoganjalisaram, The Joy of Self, and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Best studied and learned in conversation, we will explore these teachings from the bhakti perspective, and discuss the main paths of transcendence as taught by the various yogic traditions. Learn to recognize what you are reading, and how to recognize who is speaking and what their tradition might be, so as to better understand what their angle of vision might be. Critical thinking, experience, and practical wisdom combine in this 16 week course for anyone that has ever been curious or interested in the foundations of yoga philosophy.
