This primer is helpful for any seeker in yoga that has interest in the basic questions about and foundational concepts of the traditional yoga philosophy. In order to understand something, we first need to know it, to be introduced to it, if you will. This course will introduce you to the three main texts of yoga philosophy, the Upanishads, The Bhagavad Gita, and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. We use a loose, non-threatening discussion format, with a weekly reading and study guide questions to help shape the context for deeper awareness and guide our personal inquiry. These are living, dynamic books with so much to bring out in each one of us, and we try to facilitate each student's growth process and resonance with this wisdom. A great chance for good company in the study of bhakti, yoga, and the true self.
32 Philosophy Hours for 500 Hour students, and the option to join us at Breitenbush for additional cost to deepen your study in the woods.
