For teachers and students alike, Yoga Tune Up® is a therapy format built around the three P's – Pain, Posture and Performance. It helps eradicate pain, improve posture and enhance performance through a unique blend of Corrective Exercise, Self Massage and Yoga. By helping to identify and target your "body blind spots"; areas that are most overused, underused, or misused, YTU heals damaged muscle, increases strength and establishes healthy movement patterns to help you live better in your body.

Friday Night: Yoga Tune Up®: Unwreck Your Neck

The daily grind might just be wrecking your neck. Most of us spend a large portion of our days glued to a computer screen or texting on the phone.  Unfortunately your cervical spine bears the brunt of this repeated stress and strain which often leads to stiffness, painful tension and decreased range of motion.

Unwreck Your Neck hands you the tools to undo the damage and prevent further injury. Think of this workshop as a cervical oasis, a place where you’ll learn self-massage techniques using the Roll Model Method® Therapy Balls to soften the muscles and fascia of your knotty neck and upper back. Soothed, you’ll be ready to address all the tissues of your neck, shoulders and forearms with a detailed focus on your deep neck flexors—the “core” of your neck.  Expect to have “a-ha” lightbulb moments as you unveil body blind spots while learning how to change your daily habits to set a new foundation for a healthy, happy neck.

Saturday Afternoon: Yoga Tune Up® Strong and Functional Glutes and Hips

Having strong gluteal muscles can help prevent injury and decrease back pain. But too many times, we’re getting lax in back – letting our backsides develop “gluteal amnesia,” a muscular imbalance that overworks the hamstrings, hip flexors, quads, and lower-back muscles, leading to pain and weakness. 

This workshop will dispel myths about what to do with your glutes in yoga poses and help you put some intention into how to use them in a healthy way. You’ll learn how, why, and when to use your glutes during your yoga practice, daily life, and other fitness endeavors. Expect to explore self-massage techniques, targeted stretches, and corrective exercises that will free your hips so that you can stay strong and sustained in all your endeavors.

Sunday Afternoon: YOGA TUNE UP®/Training:

The Roll Model® Method - Ball Sequencing and Innovation

Put the power of self-myofascial release into your own hands. This training empowers you to personally adopt and teach simple yet highly effective self-care regimens for pain-relief and improved performance. The 4 different sized Roll Model® Therapy Balls included in this module can be used as an adjunct offering within personal training sessions, stretch, Pilates, dance classes, wellness coaching, yoga, massage therapy, or with kids and special needs populations. These proven, whole-body exercises are approved by physical therapists, pain medicine specialists, and chiropractors.
This training equips you to:
• Explore pain-erasing self-myofascial release in over-used areas of your body like your hands and knees, or completely ignored areas like the diaphragm and pelvic floor.
• Improve classroom demonstration of Therapy Ball techniques and trouble-shoot classroom pitfalls and challenges when presenting to beginners or more experienced students.
• Learn the art of crafting test/retest scenarios to provide instant feedback of improved function or reduced pain
• Refine your anatomical fluency of bony landmarks, muscular attachments, and the fascial seam-system through experiential mapping strategies.
• Learn tools for consistently creating innovative Therapy Ball sequences for yourself and your clients
• Learn the optimal use of 4 different sized Roll Model® Balls that unravel patterns of pain and dysfunction.

(Tuition includes all Roll Model® Therapy Balls (1 pair each of original Yoga Tune Up® Balls, Therapy Ball Plus, 1 ALPHA, and 1 Coregeous® Ball) course handbook and an optional certificate of completion.)

*This module is open to all levels of student/educator/clinician. There is no pre-requisite to attend, but you are highly encouraged to take The Science of Rolling Training before or after taking Ball Sequencing and Innovation.
